Lake
Cleanup – The Magnificent Seven Volunteers
On
September 22nd,a hard working, magnificent crew of seven
volunteers began working at 9:00am. Thank you Sam Zajac, Dick Van
Voorhis, Dean Denhart, Scott Bruveris, Ed Watson, Jim and Judi
Schneider. We focused our efforts cleaning up the Cicero shoreline
from the Waterfront Inn south along Main St. This was a continuation
of our efforts to clean up prior to the July Cicero Triathlon.
We
collected a trailer load of garbage and debris. We collected enough
logs, branches and twigs to have 5 big bonfire’s, some that burned
for 5-6 hours. See the photos from the September and July cleanup
day’s by clicking on the links above.
Later
in the morning the Fabulous Five Baker Family arrived. Tim,
Cynthiana and the 3 kids, Zachary, Melissa, and Elizabeth collected
another 5 bags of garbage and an old water pump. You can also find
them periodically walking along South Harbor beach and surrounding
area picking up garbage.
There is still plenty of time for
you to cleanup:
Everyone should use this opportunity to clean up their own shoreline of
garbage, twigs, logs etc. while the water is low. If you or your
neighbors have any trees that have fallen into the lake, please work
together to cut them up and haul them out. We don’t want logs
floating in the lake during the Spring high waters creating safety
issues for boaters.
