LAKE CLEAN-UP  - 2008

Another Successful LAKE CLEANUP

On Saturday morning July 26, 2008, 24 volunteers participated in our 4th annual Morse Waterways lake cleanup. We pulled 7 dump truck loads of logs and debris from the lake, 2 large trailer loads of smaller wood debris and approximately 20 bags of garbage.

This year we were joined by 9 players from the Hamilton Heights Boys Soccer team and their coach Derek Dean. The players worked extremely hard and fast in collecting all the debris and garbage. Many of the players were getting in the water and pulling out the debris. Thanks to Jane Hunter from the Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce for coordinating the soccer teams participation. Their work will be extremely appreciated by the triathlons on August 9th as they walk the causeway and enter the water for the swimming.

The following Morse Waterways volunteers spent most of the morning on boats and in the water collecting logs as long as 40 feet and diameter as much as 20 inches. By removing these logs, we have made Morse safer for recreational boaters, skiers and tubers.
