2007 MORSE CLEANUP
CICERO TRIATHLON CLEANUP July 24 and 28th, 2007
Eleven people volunteered for Tuesday night to pulled many very large logs from the lake. Many of these had to be cut and rustled from the shore line since the lake was low. The Cicero Fire Department was fantastic in helping us get these logs out of the water and into a big pile for the Cicero Street and Utilities department to haul away on Wednesday.
Saturday July 28th was a stinky, smelly job. The garbage under the bridge and in front of Waterfront Restaurant was horrific. We used 16 trash bags and had 3 trailer loads of wet, smelly logs and debris. Thanks to Cicero Fire Department for allowing us to use the burn pile.

Lake Cleanup – The Magnificent Seven Volunteers
On Saturday morning a hard working, magnificent crew of seven volunteers began working at 9:00am. Thank you Sam Zajac, Dick Van Voorhis, Dean Denhart, Scott Bruveris, Ed Watson, Jim and Judi Schneider for your efforts. We focused our efforts cleaning up the Cicero shore line from the Waterfront Inn south along Main St. This was a continuation of our efforts to clean up prior to the July Cicero Triathlon.
We collected a trailer load of garbage and debris. We collected enough logs, branches and twigs to have 5 big bon fires, some that burned for 5-6 hours. See the photos from Saturday and July cleanup on our web site www.morseh2o.org
Later in the morning the Fabulous Five Baker Family arrived. Tim, Cynthiana and the 3 kids, Zachary, Melissa, and Elizabeth collected another 5 bags of garbage and an old water pump. You can also find them periodically walking along South Harbor beach and surrounding area picking up garbage.
There is still plenty of time for you to cleanup:
Everyone should use this opportunity to clean up their own shoreline of garbage, twigs, logs etc. while the water is low. If you or your neighbors have any trees that have fallen into the lake, please work together to cut them up and haul them out. We don’t want logs floating in the lake during the spring high waters creating safety issues for boaters.
