DOCK ADDRESS SIGNS
The Cicero Fire department responded to a recent boat fire near the power lines. A resident seeing the fire called 911 and reported the location using their boat dock number. These dock numbers are matched to your street address number.
Please get signs attached to your docks. If you need help attaching, send email to info@morseh2o.org or Dick Van Voorhis at dickvanv@gmail.com
Since over 80% of the dock signs are now installed, we might suggest installing your dock number on your boat, jet ski, etc. It will make cruising around the lake more interesting, knowing the section of the lake the other boats are from. It will also aid in getting a lost or stray piece of equipment returned.

During the raining months of May and June, MWA did get the rain garden planted at Morse park and held Safety Awareness Days, plus the reservoir has remained at a high water level. In most recent events, twenty boats participated in MWA’s 2nd annual July 4th Flotilla Boat Parade. The Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Cicero Fire Department lead the parade with flashing lights and sirens blaring. The parade started at Red Bridge and ended at South Harbour Clubhouse.
Thanks to Linda and Jim Fledderjohn for coordinating the event. Mike Murphy, Nyla Wolf (Wolfies), and Laura Fox judged the boats and awarded the prizes. First place winner went to the boat with the theme of “Holiday for All Seasons”, 2nd place to “USA for Morse”, and 3rd place to the patriot “Uncle Sam” lounging under the tiki umbrella.
Next events on our calendar are the Dinner and Dance Italiano fundraiser on July 23rd at South Harbour. This is an awesome evening for the “over 21 crowd” and only $17.50 per person. See the registration on the web site for more details.
On Saturday July 24th, MWA will have the 5th annual lake cleanup. We need your help to collect garbage and pull logs from the lake. Each year we collect 10 – 12 dump truck loads of debris. With you help, we can remove most of the logs to create a safer boating experience and save a few of our boat props.
Thank you for your continued support of our non-profit association. Your donation is tax deductable. Donations can be made with clicking the donate button on the web site or sending a check made out to Morse Waterways Association to Jim Schneider, 2460 Cape Henry Ct. Cicero, IN. 46034.
